Posted July 15th, 2004 by surplusStop by the potluck BBQ this sunday and check out the artworks that are being prepared for the RNC. If you’ve got an idea, this is the place to mobilize others to help make it happen. As well as the many other great pieces that people are developing, the folks from The Dope on a Rope Project (www.dope-on-a-rope.com) will be working away on a run of their George Bush soaps characters. Come see how they’ve adopted the technique of mold casting soap to expand the range of ways that people are expressing resistance. Join in and lend a hand or just grill and scheme with us things are brewing!
On-site materials include:
paints, foam core, projector, sewing machine, fun fur, fabric, wood, cardboard, saw, heat gun, magazines (collages), TV/VCR, sundry supplies, hot dog buns, condiments, pickles
Materials wish-list:
craft materials: glitter, sequins, buttons, etc, more fabric, costumes/masks, DVD player, laser printer, card tables, foldable chairs, brushes, drill/tools, hamburger buns, veggie burgers/dogs, chips, fixin’s, beer
