Spooked by the Bush Agenda?
Join in this year’s Halloween Parade!
Sunday, October 31 at 6:00PM, Sixth Avenue & Broome St.
Join United for Peace and Justice and friends in the Halloween Parade to send a strong, creative message of opposition to war and occupation!
The Annual Village Halloween Parade is a high-profile, high-attendance event that takes place just two days before the U.S. presidential election. This is a fun way to project a strong anti-war, anti-Bush Agenda message to one million parade watchers and the television cameras covering this event.

WHEN: Sunday, October 31, at 6:00 pm. (The parade doesn’t start until 8 pm, but the area gets very crowded and we want to gather our folks early enough to prepare a strong contingent.)
WHERE: assemble at Sixth Avenue and Broome Street, just south of the intersection (aka “Pumpkin 8″ in the Village Halloween Parade)

Some suggestions for costumes and signs:
GHOSTS! “Boo to the Bush Agenda!” Wear your whitest sheets, cobwebs, white makeup, chains, etc.
PIRATES! “U.S. out of ARRRRRR-AQ!” Wear your pirate hats, black eyepatches, pirate hats, bandanas, peglegs, artificial parrots, etc.
ZOMBIES! “BRAINS, Not Bombs!” Wear your most zombified makeup and disheveled clothing!
HUMAN POSTERIORS (Butts)! “Kiss the Asses of Evil Goodbye!” Strap on your artificial behinds and get “behind” the UFPJ antiwar/pro-voter message!
W’s, KERRY’s “No to the Bush Agenda, No Matter Who ‘Kerrys’ It Out!”
Wear your W. or Kerry mask, and your most “presidential” (or flight) suit!
UFPJ invites your creative participation in this event, but asks that your creative costume ideas remain in the “sweet” spirit of this year’s parade theme. We want to send a strong, clear message without alienating people. Please be sensitive to any costume ideas that may be perceived as disrespectful to the victims of the U.S. war in Iraq, whether Iraqi or U.S. servicepeople.

Call 917-202-5479 or email beka at unitedforpeace.org and
ufpjhalloween at hotmail.com if you want to get involved.
