Quoting Morpheous on “The Prophecy”

“What if “The Prophesy” were true. What if tomorrow the war could be over? Isn’t that worth fighting for? Isn’t that worth dying for?”

What really is the question being asked here? Could “The Prophesy” Morpheous is asking about be, not the one the prophet speaks of (within the movie narrative), but the one he’s presenting to the viewer (through the movie narrative).
