Monday, April 4 - Public hearing at City Hall

ACTION ALERT:

Monday, April 4th, 2005 - 1 PM

City Hall Broadway, New York, NY (between Murray & Warren St.s)

Help us pack the place, inside and out. We are planning creative testimonies with singing, costumes and props! This is the last time for the public to have a say in the rezoning.

Directions & more information are at communityplan(.org)

This will be the most visually dynamic city council hearing ever with props, costumes and even singing telegrams for community driven rezoning. The Coalition’s show at the hearing is a celebration of the diversity and creativity that makes our neighborhood unique but is also emblematic of what makes NYC, NYC.

CAN’T MAKE THE HEARING? Visit www.communityplan.org so you can call your Councilperson, Bloomberg and our Councilman Yassky. go to www.williamsburgwarriors.org to send emails to City Council.

BACKGROUND: One of the most aggressive rezonings in NYC’s history has been proposed for Williamsburg/Greenpoint by Bloomberg and his greedy land grabber friends. And it’s happening under our noses. (In fact, it’s happening all over\ the city). Who will decide what development looks like? People from all across this diverse community are uniting to keep Williamsburg/Greenpoint from becoming a segregated playland and shopping mall for the rich.
